Hello! Welcome to your very own Yorkshire Wine School. 2012 is turning into a big year here at the Wine School, with so many new courses on offer we don't know where to begin! We are going in for food and wine courses in a big way: from our NEW Cookery Demonstration Evenings with matching wine tastings, to our fun and friendly French Food and Wine Matching Workshops with Cafe Rouge- if you want food and wine events then we have the course for you! Also watch out for our NEW month long Regional Wine Courses, coming to Leeds this summer, and starting with an epic 'Tour de France'- a great way to get up close and personal with this historic wine super-power.
So, what is Yorkshire Wine School? We are an independent wine education company. We run wine tastings and wine courses in Leeds, York and Harrogate for anybody who enjoys wine and would like to learn more. We are not affiliated to any wine sellers: which means we can source our wine wherever we please, from a plethora of local merchants and national chains, and offer you impartial recommendations and advice. We do not sell wine: our courses are for your enjoyment only.
Who are our courses for? We welcome everybody; no previous wine tasting experience is necessary. Our wine courses and wine tastings focus on learning about wine in a relaxed and informal environment. We seek to explain why you like the wines you do, and show you how you can pick your own wines, from restaurant wine lists and supermarket shelves, with confidence
All of our wine tastings and wine courses are available as Gift Vouchers; they make ideal gifts for many occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries. Our gift vouchers are available with free delivery and no expiry date, and can be used against the cost of any course. The range of courses suits all levels of wine knowledge and experience:
- Our NEWEST courses are Cookery Demonstration Evenings with our resident professional chef, Tom Guise. Learn how to prepare restaurant quality dishes and taste wines chosen to compliment the flavours in the food- the ultimate foodie evening!
- The 8-week Introductory World of Wine course provides an in-depth foundation to your wine knowledge, covering a wide range of topics in our virtual global journey to twelve leading wine-producing countries NEW DATES now available
- Our NEW 4-week Regional Wine Courses offer you the chance to get up-close and personal with some of the world's great wine producing regions, our first 'Tour de France' kicks off this summer in Leeds
- The daytime Saturday course with lunch is a great way to enjoy a wide ranging introductory session with at least 12 fabulous wines tried over the course of the day- Now also available at our venues the Hotel du Vin in York and Harrogate
- Try our 1-evening introductory and themed tastings for a fun night out or simply as a taster of what our wine school is about and NEW for 2012 we are also offering these evening courses in York
- And, our NEW Real Beer courses offer all you real ale enthusiasts the opportunity to come along and learn more about the magic of hops and barley!

- NEW Cafe Rouge Wine and Food Evenings in Leeds, York and Harrogate
- NEW Summer Champagne Tasting in Leeds, 7pm-9pm Wednesday 20th June, £35 each
- NEW 4 Week 'Tour de France' Course in Leeds, 7pm-9pm every Tuesday from 26th June, £45 each (plus £10 each night)

Venue, Times & Accessibility
Our Leeds wine tastings and courses are held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, The Headrow (LS1 8TL), close to the financial district of central Leeds. The Presidential Suite, a beautiful, wood-panelled, private meeting space near the top of the hotel, usually provides an atmospheric backdrop to our classes. From Leeds train station simply walk north up Park Row and you will find the Radisson Blu on the junction with The Headrow, within The Light complex. The tastings run from 7pm to 9pm for the evening courses and from 11am to 4pm for our Saturday courses.

We are also pleased to introduce our brand new venue in York at the Hotel du Vin (YO24 1AX) on The Mount; from here we will be running our popular Saturday courses, (11 am-4 pm) which will include a two course lunch at the hotel's award winning bistro and a glass of Champagne on arrival. This course makes a really special present and is available as a gift voucher- perfect for the wine lover in your life! New for 2012 we are pleased to be able to bring a range of midweek evening courses to York including our popular 8 week Introductory World of Wine course. The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the train station and easily accessible from the historic city centre of York, parking is available, for free, in the hotel car park.
