Join us as we soak up the convivial atmosphere of Leeds's brand new venue from Livin'Italy, Dough House on Cloth Hall St. This is your chance to taste and drink your way around the delights of Italian food and wine. This evening is the perfect start for beginners who would like to know a little more about the principles of food and wine matching in a relaxed restaurant surrounding. It's also an exciting evening to check out the brand new restaurant from the award-winning Livin'Italy team- we are excited to experience it for ourselves!

Your evening starts with a brief guide to Italy's incredibly diverse range of wines; taste 6 top quality Italian wines including favourites such as Chianti Classico, Gavi and Valpolicella alongside more unusual wines such as Aglianico and Greco di Tufo. You will learn how to taste wine like a professional and about the basic principles of food and wine matching.

The bulk of the evening will be spent putting your new found knowledge to good use! Food will be provided by Milan-born Mattia Boldetti all in the surroundings of his newest restaurant (sure to be as popular as it's big sister Livin'Italy!). Mattia is passionate about using the best ingredients, many imported from Italy, to produce authentic and truly delicious food. Tasting boards or mini plates of 6 different Italian nibbles will be laid out on the tables to allow you to taste the different combinations of food and wine. 

Italian wines are some of the most food-friendly in the world, layering ripe fruit flavours, crisp refreshing acidity and structure from tannins. Learn how to compliment or contrast these elements by tasting combinations such as elegant Chianti Classico with mature Parmesan cheese, grilled salty anchovies with thirst quenchingly refreshing Gavi, and dark, savoury Nebbiolo with smokey chargrilled peppers.

This evening is sure to open your eyes to the world of fresh bold flavours which can be found in both Italian food and wine. We hope you can join us!
