Cheese and Wine Tasting Part 1: (Summer) White Wines and Cheese (Sheffield)
Welcome to part 1 of our BRAND NEW seasonal series looking at pairing cheese and wine! First up, specially for the summer, we have cheese and white wine...
Lots of people will think of powerful red wines, or even fortified wine (like Port) when it comes to selecting the perfect accompaniment to a cheese board. But what about all you white wine fans? Are there cheeses out there which can enhance your favourite tipple? As the first part of our cheese and wine pairing series we will be discovering the perfect cheese matches to delicious white wines such as
- White Rioja
- Vouvray Demi-Sec
All of our cheese and wine series will feature beautifully mature, artisan cheeses supplied by local specialists and Wine School friends such as Friends of Ham and George and Joseph. So what can you expect from our Summer sleection?
- Langres (a cheese made in the Champagne region)
- Roquefort (a pungent strong blue cheese which pairs with sweet fruity wines)
- Comte (a delicious nutty French cheese)
