Local Beer and Cheese Pairing Evening (Leeds)
Have you heard about the NEW Professional Craft Beer Courses which we are running in conjunction with our friends at North Bar? One of the most interesting parts of the course learning how to pair beer with food; so we decided to share a little of this insider knowledge with you!
More and more restaurants are taking beer seriously as an alternative to wine in a gastronomic sense; with bitterness, acidity, refreshing carbonation and rich mouthfeel, beer can enhance many dishes. Tonight we'll show you how to pair some of our favourite local beers from breweries like North Brew Co, Northern Monk, Magic Rock and Ilkley Brewery, with some beautiful local cheeses from our neighbours downstairs at George and Joseph. This will change the way you look at beer, and maybe cheese as well! What can you expect to taste? Previous favourite pairings include
- Saison + Goats Cheese
- Yorkshire Blue + Fig-infused amber ale
- Cheddar + Double IPA
Not only will you enjoy tasting these fabulous treats together, we'll teach you about the secrets of pairing beer with food; learn how to 'bridge' flavours, 'align' intensity and other professional beer pairing tips. Our cheese and wine evenings are amongst the most popular sessions we run, we expect this to be even better!
