Saturday Masterclass with Lunch: Beaujolais Nouveau Special
We are delighted to welcome Ben from Alpine Wines for a special Masterclass featuring the wines of the Beaujolais region. Thursurday 16th November sees us celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau Day- a festival to mark the arrival of the new vintage of this beautifully full flavoured wine. What better excuse to sit down with a local expert in Beaujolais and take a second look at this region? Whilst many people associate the wines of Beaujolais with bright, young and fruity reds, our Masterclass will introduce you to wines of this region which are often overlooked- be prepared to taste, sparkling, white, red and fortified Beaujolais as we really get under the skin of this under appreciated wine region.
Sitting within the Department of Burgundy in central France, Beaujolais should be regarded as one of the country's crown jewels of wine production. Their uniquely granetic soils produce wines of startling minerality and complexity- whites and reds which can age for many years in the bottle. To celebrate the diversity and quality of Beaujolais we'll be tasting all 10 of the famous Cru villages; taste Fleurie, Brouilly, Chenas and Cote de Brouilly alongside each other, taste the difference in 'terrior' between the finest sites in Beaujolais.
If this tasting featured on the more glamourous parts of Burgundy it would cost roughly 4x as much! Instead we are offering the chance to try the very best of the wines Beaujolais has to offer, including the finest 'Cru' sites, and a delicious two course lunch all for only £79 per person. Come and taste 14 beautiful Beaujolais wines which will surprise and delight you...
