Howard's Folly is located in Estremoz, right in the heart of central Portugal's Alentejo wine region. A place known for rugged beauty and under-the-radar wines which deliver a great deal of value for money. Heading up Howard's Folly is Yorkshireman Howard Bilton, a man with a passion for the unusual indigenous grape varieties of Portugal. Together with David Baverstock, he founded Howard's Folly to help realise their dream of both fantastic wine and great food (the winery boasts a hotel and two restaurants) in Estremoz. With Howard as the visionary behind the project, and David as head winemaker, Howard's Folly has won critcal praise and numerous awards (including best winemaker in Portugal for David, twice!).
